Brief info

Dr Boutheina Tlili joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai as an associate professor in 2010. Dr.Tlili received a bachelor of Sciences and a Master of Sciences in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University in the US. She earned her PhD (‘94) in Electrical Engineering from the same University. Prior to joining RIT, she was the program director of the Computer Engineering program at Michigan State University-Dubai. Dr. Tlili was an associate professor and program coordinator of Electrical and Computer Engineering program at the American University in Dubai from 2004-2008. She participated in obtaining ABET accreditation for Engineering programs at AUD.

Her area of Specialty is Applied Electromagnetic. Her research interest include Antenna analysis and design, Electromagnetic Theory, Field propagation in complex media and Microwave electronics. She has published many articles in international journals and conferences. She serves as reviewer for LAPC and EUCAP. Dr Tlili is part of steering committee of many local conferences such as Globecom 2018 and ICEDSA 2017.

Dr. Tlili is an IEEE senior member for the past 13 years. She is a member of IEEE Antenna and propagation society, Microwave Theory and Techniques and Education Society.

Dr Tlili is an active volunteer. She served as the IEEE Women in Engineering chair for the UAE section from 2005-17 and on the Executive committee of IEEE region 8 UAE section. Under the leadership of Dr. Tlili the WIE UAE section won an international award “ IEEE WIE affinity group of the year award” in 2010. She has organized many events and partnered with many Women organizations to empower women in Engineering. She was the chair of Women in engineering Leadership summit in October 2016 and Women in sciences and Technology Forum in 2011. She is the chair of women speaker series. She is a Cofounding member of Tunisian talent United.

Dr Tlili was a judge at the prestigious one million dollar “UAE Drones and robotics for good award” for two consecutive years.
